Four Words That Have Dramatically Impacted My Spiritual Walk

My dear friends, I am so excited to share with you, today, a foundational truth, that if you have not already heard and received, will be of great benefit to you. It will possibly assist, in the continual process of the transformation and renewal of your mind, (Romans 12:2) and will in turn help you to have a more effective prayer life, and victorious walk with the Lord.

This simple truth, as I heard it and applied it, has made such a huge impact in my life, throghout the last year. It has freed me up from so much frustration, disappointment, effort and sometimes self condemnation. It has changed how I approach God in prayer and most importantly how I relate to Him.

  • I realised that previously, I had been praying with a religious and legalistic mindset, which I incorrectly believed, involved specific actions and efforts to get a response from God.
  • I also realised that certain ‘learned’ phrases, which were included in my prayers, revealed that I was not acknowledging, what God had already promised in His Word and done.
  • I was also unwittingly, giving the enemy license to have a field day in my mind, as I depended, too much, on what I could see and how I felt, sometimes forgetting that God works in the spiritual and unseen realm.
It has taken humbleness and a request to the Lord, to give me a revelation from the Holy Spirit, in order that this foundational truth, become alive within my heart. Once I truly, fully understood it and put it into action, it has motivated me to carry out actions that I had previously feared.

This simple truth, made up of four (five) words, is this:-
                         YOU'VE ALREADY GOT IT!
Yes!  it’s just that simple – in your born again spirit - You've already got everything you will
ever need.God has already anticipated, your every need.

Faith is our positive response to what God has already done by grace.
It is not something we do to get God to respond to us.  God, wants us to partake of what He has already provided. He wants us to simply receive!

When you gave your life to the Lord, and He took up residence in your heart. God placed on the inside of you His Supernatural power. That Supernatural power, has within it, all you need to have joy, peace, victory, deliverance, healing, wisdom and all the promises that He states in His Word. Discovering what we already have, drawing out and releasing what we already have, is our part. - How exciting is that!

One you discover what you already have, and know who you are in Christ, you will pray with more effectiveness, more boldness and unwavering confidence, as you will already know God's will in your situation, before you pray! You will no longer rely, solely on your five senses, but rest in the knowledge of what you have.

With all due respect, some in the Body of Christ (and I include myself here, before I received this revelation), are wailing and travailing, pleading, beseeching and actually begging the Lord, to do something, and to give something, that He has already given. Then they are wondering why they become frustrated and deeply discouraged, when their prayers are not being answered.

How can God respond to a request for Him to give something that He has already given!

Faith appropriates what God has already provided.  We mustn’t attempt to use our faith as a lever, to obtain what we want from God. Especially when He states in His Word, through His promises, what He has already given.

When Jesus cried, “It is finished” in John 19:30.  He meant just that. His work on earth was done.

The Atonement was complete!

Don't miss my next post, I will give practical examples of how your prayer life will change,
when you apply this truth to your life. It will be a paradigm shift to some.

Read Ephesians, to find out some of the things which God has already given to the Body of Christ.

Are there any words that you have heard or read during 2011, that have impacted or changed your life?

Amen!!! We already have it! Now, the question is: Will we reach out and take it, giving humble praise, thanks and adoration to our Father? Will we ask for guidance as we use the beautiful gifts that He has given us or will we act as swine given pearls? I absolutely loved this post!!! Thank you, Carole! May the Lord bless and keep you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

This is an open secret all God's children need to know. "You've already go it." I wish anything more could be said to what you said, but it is as simple as you stated it. This is the gospel in five words.

The answer to the question is YES!
Jesus Christ died that we may have a victorious life in Him, therefore we MUST take everything He has provided.

Nice to hear from you again. Thank you for joining the discussion. Have a Happy New Year!

What a great post! I'm speaking on this very topic at a women's conference at the end of the month! Jesus came so we would not ever have to live in bondage, yet we let the enemy tie us up. How would the world change if we BELIEVED what we say we believe and prayed in the confidence of His LOVE!!! Unchanging, glorious love!

Thanks for the encouragement.

I love this! We need to understand who we are in Christ. I am in the midst of studying Ephesians and loving it.

Thank you for your kind comment on Heart Choices. I have my moments but overall I am calm about this move. I'm glad you could sense that too.

Blessings and love,
